Around 80% of the world population has computer right? And some of the computer users want some little “upgrade” to the PC to make it more interesting, futuristic and unique. So you spend a little money, a little bit of creativity and get your hands dirty to make something like this.



Cool right, but that it just casing that you can buy from any hardware store. For those who truly want to modify their PC to next level, you have to think outside of the box and you have to think bizarre and you have to think impossible. Something like this.

Concept Car

I know that some of like cars and when I ask you what is a most expensive, most classy and the most “space-age” car out there, you will probably say Lamborghini, Mercedes, Ferrari, or Porsche. ‘buzzz’ wrong, is neither. The most expensive car out there is not the company that made it, is a car that every company has which known as “Concept Car” which also means the car of the future. Every new concept car is one of its kind in the world because it is a prototype, made with new styling and technology and extremely expensive which is about 3 Million USD every new prototype. The purpose of its production is to show the world of its uniqueness, spread new ideas and inspiration and to show off a mechanical work of art

Pet Fashion

The definition of fashion is styles and customs prevalent at a given time which normally meant for clothing and accessory. I bet that most of you have watched some fashion show on TV that involves men and women cat-walking on stage in order to present the designer’s works right? But have ever seen this before


Yup, fashion for pets, I wonder what the world have become? I find it weird but creative at same time because animal don’t wear clothing but it somehow look beautiful with it.

Random Words

I learned that random word technique is another effective way to generate idea. Similar to juxtaposition which it require 2 different items and then link them together to make a new idea. However, random word technique solves one problem by using any random word. For example, how to an addict do drugs and use a word completely random like a dog. Then we describe the dog:

1) They smell bad.

2) They are man best friend.

3) They eat dog food or junk.

With 3 associations, we can use it to solve problem:

1) Like make the drug smell bad and feel ill whenever am addict take a dose

2) Encourage people to help an addict to stop taking drug

3) Make the drug have horrible taste

Batsu Game (Punishment Game)

I know that some of you like reality TV shows like Amazing Race, Survivor and Fear Factor right? All the pain, anger, depression and happiness of the participant playing the game are shown on TV. That’s American entertainment, so what about the Japan? If you experience any Japanese culture, you will see that Japanese like to see people in pain as an entertainment. Well I do not mean they are sadist and watch people suffer; what I mean is that the Japanese like to see people play pranks on other people especially painful one. For those who watch TV 8 years ago, you will probably remember a TV program from Japan called Istana Takeshi which is game show play by 100s of Japanese participant that involve painful and tiring gauntlet and the price for completing the challenge is quite high. This is because Japanese people are strong and very enduring kind of people and they never like to give up (most of them). There is one games I would like to share is called Downtown Gaki no Tsukai Batsu Game which mean Downtown “This is not a Job for Kids” Punishment Game. This is Japan popular TV comedy show that involves 5 men and these 5 men only. They are Matsumoto Hitoshi, Tanaka Naoki, Yamasaki Hosei, Endo Shozo and Masatoshi Hamada which is a host for many shows and a comedian. These 5 men will be divided into 2 groups through preliminary rounds which the victims and the hosts. The victim will spend 24 hours in an area like a hospital, police station or school. In the area contain a lot of comedian and funny prank that will cause the victims to laugh. However, the rule is that the victims are not allowed to laugh in any circumstances or else the will get a painful smack on their buttock and the host is there to spice things up. I find this show very funny and creative as what Japanese can think of as an interesting TV program.

Juxtaposition

According to my understanding of juxtaposition, it define as an act or instance of placing close together or side by side, esp. for comparison or contrast. It is another one of the effective to solve problem, designing and or other creative pursuit besides mind mapping. Juxtaposition idea is to combine 2 different things and link them together with any similarity. For example, I give you 2 word which is Cat and Candy which is 2 different things but you can relate them as sweet, nice and cute.

Optical Illusion

Have you ever heard of optical illusion? Of course you heard about it, but do you know how it works? Well, optical illusion means visual trick that give out a miss conceptual images that makes you think of something else while looking at something else. It is invented by anyone who has an idea of what kind illusion that they are going to make and understand the way that a human mind work and also more of a fun trick that can share with your friends. To me, I find optical illusion creative because its allow us play with people minds with just visual images whether it is fun and impressive or scary and creepy

Mind Mapping

The definition of mind mapping is a process of making ideas through visual. It helps a lot when you are brainstorming because not only it is able to elaborate the specific topic deeply but will also able to broaden the ideas by “thinking outside of the box”. To me, mind mapping works really well in my studies and for my career because I have been trained to do mind mapping when I was in foundation when I always ran out of ideas. Try it out, I guarantee it will also work for you.

A computer of course! Have you read anything about computer history, if your answer is NO then let me give you a brief evolution of computer


This is ENIAC, the first computer and it is as big as the entire room!


Then there is Altair 8800, a computer that can put on top of your table but it is kind of boring looking at a big electronic box.


This is APPLE II, one of the 1st generation personal computer with a screen.


Ahh, a beautiful latest generation personal computer.


Its is personal computer that you can bring wherever you want


This is a Personal Digital Assistant or PDA for short which is a palm size computer.

Now you might be thinking "this is it, there is no possible computer smaller than PDA or hand phone" right? You'll be surprise when I show you this




PEN SIZE computer made in Japan. You can see that science and creativity can bring wonders.

Week 3 Lesson

On week 3, I learned that there are 2 types of creativity and 2 types of creation. As I mentioned before in the previous post, the 2 types of creativity are the big C Creativity and the small c creativity. For the big C Creativity means generates ideas which can have a great impact on the world and make history; on he other hand, the small c creativity which also called novelty can only make ideas which applicable for certain individual or specific group of people.

As for the 2 creation, one is known as invention and the other is innovation. The definition of invention is generation of ideas from existing knowledge like the invention of telephone by Alexander Graham Bell. On the other hand, innovation means making improvement or modification based from an existed idea like the invention of World Wide Web by Tim Berner. What Creativity Can Do?

See this somewhere before? This is Leonardo da Vinci first sketch of his Flying Machine in his journal. Leonardo is able to sketch this because he is a brilliant artist and engineer. Unfortunately his Flying Machine did not has its first lift off but it was a good try and a great concept too. Hmm.... this look like something similar, can you take a guess? How about this

See, Leonardo's masterpiece WORKS, or at least his ideas. His ideas was carried on by another brilliant engineer to put this concept into good use. This prove that creativity can be evolve by a creative minds to produce another better and more "up to date" creative minds

Creativity also enable to enable us to think differently too. Take this for example


Obviously you see a chair with different color, material and size. What they have in common? Their legs of course which have 4 legs. I remember I heard it somewhere that all chair must have 4 legs in order to be stable and can be sit on safely and if there are one or more legs missing, you won't be able sit properly and might fall over. One day, all of the sudden these chairs are released into the market


Now tell me, how many legs are there for each chair?
I learn that, if we are able to learn the secret formula of creativity, god knows what impossible things we can make to change the thinking of the world.
